MobileMonkey

mobilemonkey-landing

MobileMonkey is a chatbot builder in which you can make a chatbot for Facebook Messenger, your website and SMS.

It is even one of the favorites chatbot builders of Neil Patel (New-York Times Bestselling Author and in the Top 25 of Marketing Influencers by Forbes).

  • An easy-to-use interface in which you can make a chatbot without a single line of code
  • Many chatbot elements you can use to build your chatbot

Botsify

botsify-landing

Botsify focuses on chatbots that “Let your bot chat like a human”. And the goal is to “Increase sales by 30% and reduce costs by 80% using AI”.

And it is good software. With Botsify you can easily put your chatbot on multiple channels because they support websites, Facebook Messenger, Slack and SMS.

What I really like about Botsify is their Conversational Forms feature in which it is really easy to transform a form (like a contact form) into a conversational experience. And let’s be honest, having a conversation is much more fun than filling in a boring form 😉

Pros

  • Support multiple channels: Website, Facebook Messenger, Slack and SMS
  • You can put a widget on your website in your corporate identity, without having people to log in to Facebook Messenger
  • Great integrations with third-party software
  • Easily attract users to your chatbot with their growth tools
  • Make conversational forms with their Conversational Forms feature

Cons

  • The interface has a high learning curve
  • You need to give your credit card information if you want to use the free trial
  • Not possible to connect your chatbot with Facebook Ads

Pricing: Botsify has a free trial of 14 days. After that, their first paid plan is $50 per month in which you get 30K users, unlimited messages, unlimited keywords, unlimited forms and unlimited chatbot flows.

Here is a complete Botsify review or you can immediately try it out for free.

Flow XO

flowxo-landing

Flow XO is a chatbot builder to make chatbots to communicate with your customers across a wide range of channels.

And as the name mentions, they really want the user to flow through the conversation.

With Flow XO you can put a chatbot on your website, Facebook, SMS, Slack and Telegram, which makes it easy to provide an omnichannel experience to your users.

Pros

  • Easy to build conversations for your chatbot
  • Offer many channels: Website, Facebook, SMS, Slack and Telegram.
  • Integration with WooCommerce and it is possible to buy something within the chatbot
  • Has a built-in live chat

Cons

  • Not possible to add tags to users and make user segments
  • No integration with Zapier or Integromat
  • Minimal analytics

Pricing: Flow XO offers a free plan and a free trial on their paid plan. Their free plan gives you 500 interactions and 5 bots. Their standard plan is $19 a month in which you get all the features, 5.000 interactions and 15 bots.

If you want more info, check my Flow XO review or immediately try it out for free.

BotStar

botstar-landing

BotStar describes themselves as “Chatbots For Website And Messenger Without Coding”.

And in fact, they have a great platform.

By using the visual flow builder in BotStar, it is extremely easy to set up your chatbot in a couple of minutes.

But to me, the best part of BotStar is their translation option. They are the only chatbot builder that allows you to easily translate your complete chatbot to a different language.

Pros

  • Easy to build your chatbot with their Visual Flow Builder
  • Only chatbot builder by which you can easily translate your chatbot to a different language
  • Have a built-in CMS which allows you to build your chatbot faster
  • Possible to match your website widget with the branding of your website
  • Many integrations with third-party software
  • Built-in live chat integration

Cons

  • Only possible to put your chatbot on Facebook Messenger and your website
  • Minimal analytics
  • No eCommerce integrations

Pricing: BotStar provides a free plan in which you can use most of the features of their platform. Next, they provide a Pro plan, which gives you unlimited chatbot projects and 500 subscribers. This plan is $15 a month, which is a really reasonable price.

Here is a complete BotStar review or you can immediately try it out for free.

ActiveChat

activechat-landing

ActiveChat is a chatbot builder that focuses on “Build bots that bring value”.

And they do bring value. A lot.

With ActiveChat it is easy to build a chatbot for your website, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and SMS.

Pros

  • Support multiple channels: Website, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and SMS
  • Advanced website widget: widget in your own corporate identity and you can send messages based on the page the user is on
  • One of the best eCommerce integrations I have ever seen in a chatbot builder (with Shopify & WooCommerce)

Cons

  • The interface has a little higher learning curve than other chatbot software
  • No integrated live chat (but this is coming in May)
  • Minimal analytics

Pricing: Free plan up too 100 subscribers and with limited features. The first paid plan is $9 per month which comes with 500 subscribers and all the features of the platform. After this, the pricing increases with the number of subscribers you have.

Here is a complete ActiveChat review or you can immediately try it out for free.

LandBot

landbot-landing

You can already hear when you say the name. Landbot is a chatbot builder specifically for landing pages.

In fact, I think they are one of the best chatbot builders to put on a landing page.

But that’s not it.

Because next to building a chatbot for your website, you can also build a chatbot for Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Slack.

Pros

  • Easy-to-use interface in which you make a chatbot with their Visual Flow Builder
  • Support multiple channels: Website, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Slack
  • Extremely good builder for chatbots on landing pages

Cons

  • Not possible to add tags to users and make user segments
  • No AI built-in the software
  • Minimal analytics

Pricing: Landbot has a free plan which comes with 100 chats per month and 30 blocks per chatbot. The first paid plan is $30 per month which comes with more features but doesn’t remove the Landbot branding (which is a little odd). When you want that removed, you need one plan higher (which is $100 a month).

Here is a complete Landbot review or you can immediately try it out for free.

SilFer Bots

silferbots-landing

SilFer Bots is the new kid on the block.

They recently started with their chatbot software, but it is really good. You can make a chatbot in a matter of minutes, by using their Visual Flow Builder.

The great thing about SilFer Bots is the company itself. They are really good at implementing new features at a fast pace and listening to customers, to make the chatbot builder better.

Pros

  • Easy to make your chatbot with the Visual Flow Builder
  • Many chatbot elements you can use to make your chatbot
  • Assign attributes and tags to your users, so that you can segment them
  • Great eCommerce integrations with Shopify & WooCommerce
  • Easy to attract users by using the Growth Tools
  • Built-in live chat
  • AI built-in the software and a DialogFlow integration (if you want more capabilities)
  • Direct integrations with Zapier, Integromat and Google Sheets

Cons

  • You can only put your chatbot on your website & Facebook Messenger
  • Not possible to have a website widget without having to log in at Facebook first
  • Minimal analytics, but enough to improve your chatbot

Pricing: SilFer Bots comes with a free plan. With this plan, you can have 100 subscribers to your chatbot. The first paid plan is $9 a month and then you have 500 subscribers. After that, the price of the Pro plan increases with the number of subscribers that you have.

If you want more info, check my SilFer Bots Review of immediately start with them for free.

Recart

recart-landing

Recart focuses on one thing and one thing only: Increasing the sales of your eCommerce store.

The only goal of Recart is to get your webshop user into Facebook Messenger so that you can send them an abandoned cart message if the user didn’t finish their order.

And now I hear you thinking, “Cool, but this is also possible with email marketing?

True, but Facebook Messenger has 4X higher open rates than email, which makes Recart way more effective than your average email marketing software.

By the way, Recart is not your usual chatbot platform. They are only good at increasing your sales, not on making a lot of chatbot flows. So, if you want the usual features in a chatbot platform, you can connect Recart with them.

Pros

  • Great integration with Shopify, Shopify Plus and WooCommerce
  • Cart abandonment via Facebook Messenger
  • Possible to integrate Recart with other chatbot builders

Cons

  • No keyword recognition or AI built-in
  • They only support Facebook Messenger
  • Don’t have the usual features of a chatbot builder

Pricing: The pricing of Recart is extremely awesome. First of all, they provide a 28 days trial in which you can use every feature of the platform. Next, you only pay for the extra sales that you are getting through Recart. So, if your extra sales are below $1000 you pay $29 per month, but if your extra sales are up to $2500 you pay $49 per month.

Here is a complete Recart review or you can immediately try it out for free.

Botnation AI

botnation-ai-landing

Botnation AI is a French start-up and describes themselves as the “The European Chatbot Creation Platform”.

With Botnation AI you can put your chatbot on your website, Facebook Messenger, Google Assistant and they even support calls.

With the many integrations they have, it is easy to connect your chatbot with third-party software (such as your CRM).

Pros

  • Easy to make your chatbot in their interface
  • Can assign attributes to users and segment them
  • AI is built in the software
  • Built-in live chat integration
  • Provide integrations with Zapier & Google Sheets
  • Possible to match your website widget with the branding of your website
  • Good analytics so that you can easily improve the answers of your chatbot
  • You can optimize your buttons, by using A/B testing

Cons

  • No visual flow builder
  • Cannot add tags to users
  • You cannot send campaigns (also called sequences) to users
  • Only possible to put your chatbot on your website and Facebook Messenger
  • They have no eCommerce integrations

Pricing: Botnation AI provides a free plan. The first paid plan is €29 a month which comes with 1000 subscribers.

Here is a complete Botnation AI review or you can immediately try it out for free.

DialogFlow

dialogflow-landing

DialogFlow is the chatbot builder of Google.

And they are praised for their AI. Even most other chatbot builders have an integration with DialogFlow only for the AI part.

Pros

  • One of the best AI in chatbot builders
  • Integrations with many other chatbot builders
  • They support a lot of channels: Website, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Google Assistant, Telegram, Slack and more.
  • You can match your website widget with the branding of your website
  • Great analytics

Cons

  • Their platform is harder to understand for beginners
  • No built-in live chat

Pricing: DialogFlow is free to use.

If you want to try DialogFlow immediately, click here.

Chatbotize

chatbotize-landing

Chatbotize is one of the chatbot builders we really need to keep an eye on.

It has various plugins, which most other chatbot builders don’t have. Out of the box, they support challenges, contests, promotional codes, puzzles, quizzes and much more.

Also, they have their own AI&NLP, built in the software.

Pros

  • Easy-to-use interface in which you can build your chatbot
  • Many plugins so you can engage with your chatbot users
  • AI built in the software
  • Built-in live chat
  • You can match your website widget with the branding of your website
  • Analytics are good enough to improve the answers of your chatbot

Cons

  • Cannot assign attributes and tags to users
  • Only possible to put a chatbot on your website and Facebook Messenger
  • No eCommerce integrations

Pricing: The “Start” plan of Chatbotize is pretty expensive. It is $99 a month and only comes with 5 automations (which is a lot of money, for not many features). The next plan comes with 10 automation and is $199 a month.

If you want more info on this chatbot builder, check my Chatbotize Review of immediately go to their website.

Continually

continually-landing

Pros

  • Easy to make a chatbot by using their visual flow builder
  • Advanced website widget: a widget that matches your website design and you can send messages based on the page the user is on, number of page visits, time of the day and more.
  • Built-in live chat integration and integration with Zapier

Cons

  • Missing some important chatbot elements, such as Delays and, Galleries & Persistent Menu
  • No AI built-in
  • Only possible to put a chatbot on your website
  • Cannot make user segments
  • Very expensive software
  • No analytics, so it is difficult to improve the answers of your chatbot
  • They have no eCommerce integrations

Pricing: Continually has a free plan and comes with a free trial on every one of their plans. Their first paid plan is €17 a month, which comes with 10.000 pageviews, 3 user seats and almost all the features of the platform.

Here is my Continually review or you can immediately try it for free.

HubSpot

hubspot-landing

HubSpot is one of the most used CRMs in the world. They provide a total customer relationship management system with additional marketing possibilities, such as ads, e-mail, landing pages, social media and chatbots.

In 2017, HubSpot acquired Motion.ai (a standalone chatbot platform). Because of that, it is possible to make a chatbot on the HubSpot platform.

But, to be honest, the HubSpot chatbot builder is pretty minimal.

It is good enough to make simple chatbot conversations, such as qualifying leads, but it is not possible to make a large chatbot with many different flows.

Pros

  • Good for making easy chatbot interactions
  • Built-in live chat
  • Integrations with Zapier & Integromat
  • You can match your website widget with the branding of your website

Cons

  • Missing many chatbot elements
  • Not possible to add tags or create user segments
  • Not possible to send broadcasts & campaigns
  • No AI built-in
  • Only possible to put your chatbot on your website and Facebook Messenger
  • Not possible to connect your chatbot with Facebook Ads
  • No analytics
  • They don’t have eCommerce integrations
  • Zero tutorials on how to use the software

Pricing: HubSpot comes with a free plan and a free trial. After the free plan, the first plan costs $46 per month. But this plan is not only for the chatbot. This plan is for the whole CRM. So that is why their pricing is a little bit complicated because it does not only apply to the chatbot part of their CRM.

If you want more information, check my HubSpot Review or immediately start using it for free.

So, which one is the best?

And here comes the answer you don’t like: It depends.

It depends on what you want.

If you only want a chatbot for Facebook Messenger, then ManyChat, Chatfuel or SilFer Bots would suffice.

But if you want a widget on your website without having users to log in via Facebook Messenger, these 3 chatbot builders are not good enough. Then I maybe would go for ActiveChat, Flow XO or Botsify.

But then, if you want a live chat, ActiveChat would not work for you anymore. So then MobileMonkey becomes a better option.

So as I already said, it depends on your needs.

Therefore, I reviewed many chatbot builders, so you can easily decide the best chatbot software for your needs.

Hey Marcel! Thank you for sharing the link. I am actually familiar with their Google Analytics integration, but it only allows you to measure three things: Whether the widget/welcome message was displayed, if the sidebar was opened and if an email address was captured. When building a chatbot, I am interested in metrics like how many messages are sent, how many users used the chatbot and which messages the chatbot didn’t have an answer to. These metrics allow you to improve your chatbot.

      Thank you 🙂

    Great review!
I like very much of Chat Fuel, has many functions and is easy to use (yep, need sometime to do advanced stuffs).
I’ve been studying DialogFlow a few days, the problem (that i totally agree with you) is not easy to start…is powerfull but not easy.
I hope that kind of techonology can be more easy with past days and has a translation to another languages (my case pt_BR).

    1. Joren Wouters

      Thank you! 🙂
Indeed, DialogFlow is less easy to use than Chatfuel (especially at the beginning). But what is often used is Chatfuel and then add DialogFlow for extra AI capabilities to make your chatbot smarter.

  3. Eric

    Thanks Joren for the article.
Which bot is or will be the best option for you to have an integrated payment experience for the user within WHATSAPP? I understand that Landbot is the only one to offer it now?

    1. Joren Wouters

      Thank you! 🙂
Right now, the only chatbot software (that I know) that has WhatsApp as a channel is Landbot.

  4. Miguel

    Hi Joren,
Thanks a lot for putting all this information together, I learnt so much with your article.

I use Activechat and I love the integration with Google sheets, I can’t wait to see the live chat integration and the users feature.

Any comments about Quiriobot? I used it before and on a site to collect information for HR and for booking trips, it does the work quite well and it is easy to use.

    Cheers

    1. Joren Wouters

      Hey Miguel!
Currently I have no review about Quriobot, so I cannot say much about them. But I have them on my list to review soon 🙂
