Step 1: Have an Instagram Business or Creator Account
There are two types of Instagram accounts that can connect to Manychat:
- Business accounts
- Creator Accounts (with less than 500K followers)
So, if you currently have a personal account you need to switch to a Business or Creator account.
To do this, open Instagram on your phone (not Desktop). Then, go to your profile and click the menu at the top-right:
Scroll down until and click on Account type and tools (under “For professionals”):
And click on Switch to professional account:
Step 2: Create a Free Manychat Account and connect it to Instagram
The next step is to create your Manychat account.

This will bring you to the Manychat website, where you need to click on Get Started Free:
Select Instagram:
And log in with your Facebook account:
Once you are logged in, Manychat will verify your email address and will ask you to log in to your Instagram account.
When you have done this, you will eventually get to a screen that looks like this. Click on Go to Instagram:
Here, you need to give Manychat the permissions that it needs by clicking on Allow:
And now you have successfully connected your Instagram account to Manychat!
