1. Awakening with Brian: 2,055 webinar attendants with a 60% show-up rate
Brian Yang is a spiritual coach who runs online webinars to help people reconnect with their purpose and inner peace.
His main challenge was getting more people to sign up for his webinars, and actually show up.
So we built a fully automated Instagram DM funnel using Manychat, which is one of the best platforms for Instagram chatbots.
Here’s how the Instagram DM funnel worked, step-by-step:
- Trigger: Anyone who commented “webinar” on a specific post automatically received a DM
- Confirmation: The bot confirmed they were interested in the webinar
- Lead Capture: The flow asked for their name and email address
- DM List Opt-in: They were asked to confirm they wanted updates via DM
- Auto-Registration: Once confirmed, their info was synced with Zoom Webinars and Brian’s email platform. No manual work was needed
Once registered, they automatically received friendly reminders straight to their Instagram DMs. They’d get them 2 days, 1 day, and 30 minutes before the webinar.
This flow brought in 3,141 conversations, 2,055 webinar signups, and a 60% show-up rate. For comparison, average show-up rates are around 35-45%.

2. Julia Fratichelli Haircoaching: 1,942 workshop signups and €12k+ in sales
Julia Fratichelli is a hair and makeup coach who runs a yearly BHP Workshop. It’s a free, 5-day online training that teaches aspiring stylists how to start with bridal styling.
This year, Julia wanted two things: to make it easy for people to join the workshop, and offer a paid VIP upgrade for those who wanted more.
So we built a simple Instagram DM automation that worked like this:
- People commented “BHP25” on Julia’s Instagram post
- They automatically received an Instagram DM confirming their interest
- The flow asked for their name and email address
- When we got that, we asked if they want to receive reminders via the DMs
- Then, they were registered for the workshop
When people signed up for the free workshop, they got an optional VIP upgrade. This VIP upgrade cost €27 and gave access to a VIP experience, more guides and worksheets.
If people were interested, they were directly sent to the checkout page where they could complete their order.
This simple Instagram automation generated big wins:
- 4,048 total conversations started
- 1,942 people signed up for the 5-day workshop
- 460 upgraded to VIP access (🔥 23.7% conversion rate)
- €12,420 in sales from the VIP upgrade alone
What made this work? The offer felt like a natural next step, not a hard sell.

3. Shruti Pangtey: 300+ interested buyers from a 5-day Instagram DM funnel
Shruti Pangtey is a digital creator and educator who teaches people how to launch and grow their own digital products.
One of her top lead magnets is the Digital Product Checklist. It’s a free step-by-step guide that helps beginners prepare for their first launch.
Shruti wanted to use a funnel warm up leads inside Instagram DMs and turn them into real buyers. Here’s what that funnel looked like:
- People commented “Checklist” on a targeted Instagram post
- The bot sent an automatic Instagram DM confirming their interest
- The flow collected their name and email
- Once submitted, they received a free checklist
Most funnels would stop here. But Shruti’s kept going after giving users their free checklist.
We kept the conversation going for the next 3 days. Shruti’s bot sent follow-up messages packed with small wins, tips, and encouragement.
By Day 4, the flow introduced one of her paid offers. On Day 5, it circled back with social proof and a soft call to action.
This got her hundreds:
- 2,506 started conversations
- 1451 new emails (58% conversion rate)

4. Lot Beukers: 2,840 leads & 400 warm buyers from a free e-book funnel
Lot Beukers is a health coach who helps people build sustainable habits without restrictive dieting.
One of her main lead magnets is the Beukers Roadmap, a step-by-step plan to long-term weight loss.
She wanted to deliver it straight through Instagram DMs and softly introduce a low-cost product right after.
Here’s the flow we created:
- Followers commented “Roadmap” on an Instagram post
- They received an automatic DM that confirmed their interest
- The flow asked for their name and email
- Once submitted, they received the roadmap right in the DMs
After the free download, users would get the bonus. It was a recipe e-book with a limited-time discount. The regular price was €15.95, but we’d offer it for €12.95.
This upsell was offered immediately after they would download the free e-book. It made the whole process more natural.
The results were very impressive:
- 3,111 Instagram DM conversations
- 2,840 new email subscribers (that’s a 91% opt-in rate)
- 400 people expressed interest in the paid recipe pack.

5. Planted Runner: Over 2600+ people moved to her email list
Claire Bartholic, aka The Planted Runner, is a plant-based running and mindset coach who helps people train for and run marathons.
She wanted to get more leads and customers from her Instagram.
So we created a lead generation funnel to give away her 6-page ebook: Ultimate Nutrition Guide.
It’s a free guide that explains what to eat before, during and after a run.
Here’s how it worked:
- Followers commented “GUIDE” on any of her posts
- They’d get an automatic Instagram DM to confirm the interest
- Next, we ask for their name and email
- And then we give them the free e-book
Everything was automated and synced to her email platform. So every new DM opt-in was added to her email list.
3,373 people started the flow, and 2,602 gave their name and email. That’s a 77% conversion rate.

6. Tim Coronel: 200+ Emails Gained via Auto-Welcome DM to New Followers
Tim Coronel is a Dutch celebrity, racing / adventure personality with a large following in the Netherlands.
He wanted to turn new Instagram followers into email subscribers — essentially capturing interest at the moment they hit “Follow.”
So he set up an automation like this:
- Trigger: When somebody starts following Tim’s Instagram
- Welcome DM: The bot sends an automated message that welcomes the users and ask if they want to get updates on giveaways and challenges
- Capture Name & Email: If they respond “Yes”, he asks for their name and email
- Added to Email list: Once they give the info, they’re added to Tim’s email list

By using this automation, Tim managed to get over 200+ new leads added to his email list.

7. Roslan Bendenia: 525 webinar signups with 45% show-up rate
Roslan Bendenia is an e-commerce entrepreneur and a digital marketing expert. He has his own eCommerce business, but also helps other entrepreneurs build and scale eCommerce companies.
He wanted to get as many people as possible to attend his webinar on how to start and scale a profitable e-commerce store.
So we built a high-converting Instagram DM funnel for him. Here’s how it worked:
- Anyone who commented “WEBINAR” on Roslan’s post automatically received a DM
- The bot asked for their name and email address
- Once submitted, they were registered for the webinar
- The bot shared what they could expect and how to prepare
To make sure people actually showed up, we also added a reminder sequence:
- 1 day after signup
- 2 days after signup
- 1 day before the webinar
- 1 hour before the webinar
This kept the webinar top-of-mind without being pushy.

To generate high-quality leads and fill up sales calls, we built a value-driven Instagram DM funnel.
It works in 3 steps:
- We start by giving a freebie
- Then add more value (with more free stuff)
- And then upsell them to a free transformation call
Here’s what the funnel looked like:
