What is Chatling?
Chatling is a no-code chatbot platform that helps businesses build chatbots for their websites and WhatsApp.
Unlike traditional chatbots that rely on rigid scripts, Chatling includes AI capabilities that let you train your bot on your own content. For example, you can upload your website pages, documents, or FAQs, and the chatbot will automatically generate answers based on that data.
This makes Chatling especially useful for:
- Customer support: Answering common questions 24/7
- Sales and conversions: Engaging visitors on key pages and guiding them to take action
- Automation: Reducing repetitive tasks so your team can focus on higher-value work
Chatling is designed for business owners and creators who want to launch a chatbot quickly, without needing technical skills or a big budget.
How does Chatling work?
When you open a project in Chatling, you’ll land on the Dashboard. This gives you a quick overview of your chatbot’s performance with key metrics like:
- New conversations – the number of chats started by users
- New contacts & leads – how many leads your bot has collected
This makes it easy to see at a glance whether your chatbot is actively engaging visitors and generating results.
On the left-hand side, you’ll find the main navigation menu. Here’s what each section does:
- Dashboard – high-level performance overview
- Analytics – deeper reporting on chatbot activity
- Builder – the drag-and-drop flow builder where you design conversations
- Knowledge base – upload your website, FAQs, or documents to train your bot’s AI
- Appearance – customize how your chatbot looks on your site
- Conversations – view and manage individual chat sessions
- Contacts – see a list of users who interacted with your bot
- Settings – configure chatbot-specific options
There are also built-in integrations, including a website widget, sharing options, and Zapier for connecting Chatling to other tools.
Inside a chatbot project, the main tool you’ll use is the visual flow builder.
On the left sidebar, you’ll find building blocks like text, images, questions, AI responses, and conditions. You simply drag and drop these blocks into the main panel to design your chatbot flow:
This drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to design conversations without coding. For example, you can:
- Send a welcome message to new visitors
- Collect customer details like email addresses or order numbers
- Trigger responses from the AI knowledge base
- Set up conditional logic (e.g. “if user says X, then send Y”)
When you click on any block, its editing options appear on the right-hand side. This is where you fine-tune your messages, add buttons, or connect the step to your AI knowledge base.
Here’s an example of what it looks like when you’re editing an element in the flow builder:
And while you’re building, you can use the preview feature to instantly test your chatbot inside the interface:
Chatling also lets you add satisfaction surveys at the end of conversations. This way, you can measure how helpful users found the chatbot and continuously improve its performance:
One of Chatling’s biggest strengths is that it’s very beginner-friendly. Even non-technical users can build and launch a chatbot quickly. In fact, one of my clients built their first version without any outside help.
That said, Chatling does have drawbacks:
- One big flow – Unlike tools like ManyChat that let you organize multiple flows into folders, Chatling puts everything into a single flow. For simple bots, this is fine. But as your chatbot grows, it can get messy and hard to manage.
- Separate chatbots per channel – If you want a bot on your website and WhatsApp, you’ll need to build each one separately.
These limitations mean Chatling works best for small to medium-sized bots, rather than massive, enterprise-level projects.
Chatling pricing
One of Chatling’s biggest advantages is that it’s affordable. The platform keeps things simple with a free plan, a paid plan, and optional add-ons.
The free plan includes 100 AI credits, two chatbots, the visual flow builder, and a knowledge base. Best of all, you get unlimited chats as long as you don’t use the AI features.
The Pro plan costs $25/month. It comes with 3,000 AI credits, 2 seats for team collaboration, more chatbots, advanced analytics, and voice input.
There’s also the Ultimate plan. It costs $99/month and offers $20,000 AI credits, 6 seats for team collaboration and 35 chatbots
If you need more flexibility, Chatling also offers add-ons. You can buy extra AI credits, characters, seats, or additional chatbots.
What makes Chatling’s pricing unique is the free plan. Unlike most chatbot tools, Chatling doesn’t cap the number of conversations. That means if you don’t need AI-powered replies, you can stay on the free plan forever.
For small to medium-sized businesses, this makes Chatling one of the most cost-effective chatbot platforms.
Chatling AI Features
Chatling comes with two main AI features that make it much more powerful than a simple rule-based chatbot.
The first is the AI knowledge base. This lets you train your chatbot on your own content so it can automatically answer questions. You can feed it your website, FAQs, documents, links, and even Zendesk articles. Once trained, the bot can provide accurate, natural-sounding responses.
For example, one of my clients uploaded over 4,000 website URLs into Chatling’s knowledge base. The platform was able to process all of that data and give reliable answers in real time:
For a tool that costs $25 per month, that’s very impressive.
The second feature is AI Intents. This is where you can train your bot on example phrases.
For instance, if you create an intent for “order status,” the AI will recognize any variation of that request and trigger the right response flow:
It’s a simple way to make your bot smarter without manually covering every possible phrasing.
Together, these two AI features make Chatling more than just a basic chatbot builder. They allow you to create bots that actually understand your customers and respond in a way that feels natural.
Chatling website widget
One of the main ways to use Chatling is through its website widget. With just a few clicks, you can add the chatbot to your site and start engaging visitors right away:
The widget is fully customizable, so you can adjust its appearance to match your brand. You can also set up triggers. For example, you can show a message when someone lands on a specific page, or when a returning visitor comes back to your site.
This makes the widget useful for more than just support. You can use it to highlight offers, capture leads, or guide customers through the buying process.
In addition to the website widget, Chatling also supports WhatsApp. But keep in mind that you need to create separate chatbots for each channel.
Is Chatling worth it?
So, should you use Chatling to build your chatbot?
Yes, if you want an affordable, beginner-friendly platform that still comes with serious AI capabilities.
Chatling is especially worth it for small to medium businesses that want to:
- Automate conversations on their website or WhatsApp
- Train a chatbot on their own data (website, FAQs, documents)
- Provide 24/7 support without a big support team
The AI knowledge base is particularly strong. You can train a bot on your own content, both a few FAQs or thousands of URLs. That makes Chatling more useful than many competing chatbot builders in the same price range.
On top of that, you also get:
- A visual flow builder that’s easy to use
- Website and WhatsApp channels
- Integrations with tools like HubSpot, Zendesk, Zoho, Google Sheets, and Zapier
- Unlimited chats, even on the free plan
Of course, there are limitations. Larger bots can get unwieldy because everything lives inside a single flow. You’ll also need to create separate bots for each channel, and Chatling doesn’t include live chat. It may be a dealbreaker for some businesses.
If you’re a small to mid-sized business that needs a smart, affordable chatbot trained on your own data, Chatling is a solid choice. But if you need advanced organizational tools, built-in live chat, or a platform for very large bots, you may want to look elsewhere.
