When you get started with creating Landbot chatbots, you can create multiple chatbots per channel. In the Bot Builder section, you can manage all your chatbots and also divide these over multiple workspaces:

One of Landbot’s biggest strengths is its visual flow builder. Instead of coding, you design conversations by dragging and dropping blocks. Each block represents an action, like asking a question, sending a message, or capturing data:

It’s fast, intuitive, and easy to use. It even comes with handy keyboard shortcuts (like Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+A to select all).

Another big plus I noticed during my Landbot review: you can preview your chatbot instantly in both desktop and mobile view. Just click ‘Preview’ in the builder at the top of the screen and test your flow in a separate window

Overall, Landbot has a very easy-to-use flow builder. It lets you build conversational flows in minutes! And, it’s simple to design and test your Landbot chat before going live.

Landbot Chatbot Elements

Landbot gives you a wide variety of building blocks (called ‘elements’) to customize your chatbot. Some of the most useful include:

• Condition: Personalize conversations based on user input (great for tailored experiences)
• Jump to: Send users to another chatbot flow instead of duplicating logic. It’s essential for scalability, because you don’t need to copy and paste similar conversational flows.
• Bricks: Reuse subflows across different bots, saving time and making maintenance easier. Here’s a simple example of using a Brick in Landbot to ask if we answered the question of the customer:
• Execute code: Run Javascript code within your chatbot. It can be as simple as making a calculation (where Landbot also has another element for) or as hard as making an API Call. This is great for flexibility because you are only limited by your own code.

Contacts

Landbot makes it easy to collect and store user data in custom fields. For example, if you ask for a user’s email or company size, those answers are automatically saved.

One limitation: you can’t add tags to users, which some platforms allow.

On WhatsApp, Landbot goes a step further by letting you build Audiences – custom user segments based on multiple fields:

Landbot AI Features

Landbot has elaborate keyword-matching and AI features. Let’s cover them one-by-one.

Keyword Matching in Landbot

In your conversational flows, you can automatically reply when someone types in a keyword. Landbot provides two elements for this: The Keyword Jump and Global Keywords. With the Keyword Jump, you can ask a question to the user and then route it to the correct flow:

The Global Keywords are different. The Global Keywords element lets you set keywords for the entire flow. The only exception is for a specific moment with Keyword Jump. 

If keyword-matching alone is not enough for you, you can also integrate with Dialogflow. With this integration, you can understand the intent of the user and use Entities in your Landbot chatbot.

Landbot AI Agents

Landbot recently launched AI Agents, a major upgrade to its AI capabilities. You can now use a single, configurable agent to handle dynamic conversations. There’s no need to rely on dozens of blocks, or custom code.

Key benefits of AI Agents:

• Smarter conversations: Detect intent, answer FAQs, and generate dynamic responses in multiple languages
• Data-driven personalization: Capture structured data (like budget, industry, or preferences), store it in fields, and use it across flows
• Precision & control: You decide what the AI knows, how it behaves, and when it steps in or exits a flow
• Easy integration: Deploy on Web or WhatsApp, and connect easily to CRMs, APIs, or other tools
• Faster bot building: Replace complex flows with a single agent, making chatbot design faster and more scalable

AI Agents combine the flexibility of AI with the structure of Landbot’s flow builder. So, you get the benefits of both worlds.

Landbot AI Assistants (Depreciated)

Older AI Assistants (like the FAQ Assistant or Lead Generation Assistant) are no longer supported in Landbot.

If you previously used them, you’ll need to migrate to AI Agents to keep AI functionality. AI Agents are the new standard and provide much more flexibility and control.

Live Chat

Landbot comes with a built-in live chat feature. So when a bot can’t handle a query, it can smoothly transfer the conversation to a live chat agent:

They also have auto-assignment rules for managing how conversations are assigned to agents. It makes team management easier. You can also manage live conversations through the Landbot app.

Channels

With Landbot, it is possible to create chatbots on multiple channels:

• WhatsApp
• Facebook Messenger

Marketing

I think the best part of Landbot is the conversational experience that you can create on your own website. I have never seen a more engaging chatbot experience on a website with any other chatbot builder than with Landbot.

Landbot’s Free plan

Landbot’s Free Forever plan comes with 100 chats per month and 1 user seat. It:

• Contains basic flow operations in the builder
• Has limited integrations (Zapier, Slack, Sendgrid & Google Analytics)
• Has a unified inbox

This plan is best for testing the platform or building a very simple chatbot. But, you’ll quickly need a paid plan for serious use.

Landbot Paid plans

If you think Landbot is a great fit for you, you can use one of their paid plans. So, here’s what Landbot costs.

Landbot’s Starter plan starts at $46/month and comes with 500 chats, 100 AI chats and 2 user seats. It also comes with access to the AI agents, more elements in the flow builder and more integrations:

 

Landbot’s Pro plan starts at $105 per month and comes with 2,500 chats, 300 AI chats and 3 user seats. It also comes with access to all the features of Landbot, and even custom branding for the website widget. 

All of these prices refer to paying monthly. Paying annually reduces the prices by 20%.

Moreover, if you want to get user seats, chats per month or AI chats added to your plan, you can buy these separately:

• $22 per extra user seat
• $0.06 per extra chat
• $1.11 per extra AI chat

Landbot Whatsapp’s Pricing

Moreover, Landbot also has separate pricing plans for WhatsApp. If you want to get started with WhatsApp on Landbot, you need to pay at least $233/month. This plan comes with 2,500 chats per month and 500 AI chats:

 

In general, I think the pricing plans of Landbot are pretty affordable. There are only two things that are a little bit odd:

• WhatsApp is pretty expensive. If you want to get started on WhatsApp, you need to pay a minimum of $233 per month, which is a lot compared to other chatbot platforms
• If you want more AI chats, you need to pay $1.11 per chat. And I think this is a bit expensive knowing that on the back-end they are just using ChatGPT to handle this (which is way cheaper than $1.11 per chat)

Analytics

Landbot provides pretty basic analytics. It provides a basic dashboard with the number of active and new chats and the number of received and sent messages:

Besides that, you can also see all the user (and their characteristics) that have talked to your chatbot:

But the best part are the Flow analytics. Per chatbot in Landbot, you can see how users went through your chatbot flow and where they are stopping. 

For example, if your first question is “How old are you?”, this dashboard gives you a nice overview of what the responses of people were. Really nice feature.

 

This is a really good feature that allows you to easily improve your chatbot flow!

Landbot Templates

Landbot provides 66 templates that you can use to get started with building your own chatbot.

Also, you can create your own templates and share these with others.

Support

Landbot has an extensive knowledge base with a lot of articles on how to build chatbots. They also provide customer support over email and chat, and have a large community on Facebook. 

Is Landbot worth it?

So, should you use Landbot to create your chatbots?

After this Landbot review, for most small and mid-sized businesses, the answer is yes.

If you’re a small or medium business, try Landbot for chatbots on your website or WhatsApp. It’s a great platform to start with.

• They have an easy-to-use flow builder
• You can publish your chatbot on 3 channels.
• It has built-in AI features, a live chat, and multiple app integrations
• You can send WhatsApp broadcasts to start conversations
• The widget that you can put on your website is one of the most engaging widgets I have seen in a chatbot platform

But if you consider Landbot, there are also some disadvantages to consider:

• WhatsApp is expensive compared to other platforms. On Landbot, you can get started with WhatsApp from $178/month, while many other platforms offer cheaper options
• There are no marketing possibilities on Facebook. Because of this, I wouldn’t use Landbot for chatbots on Facebook Messenger
• If you want to add more AI chats to your plan, you need to pay $1.11 per chat

Moreover, I am not entirely sure if Landbot is the right choice if you are an enterprise company. You could technically use it as an enterprise. But, it would be harder to maintain large chatbots in Landbot. It also lacks some features, like auto-assignment rules for live chats, which enterprises often use.
